Hyderabad: TSRTC launches direct IT corridor buses

HYDERABAD: IT employees living in Hayathnagar, LB Nagar and Dilsukhnagar can now skip bikes, cabs and metro interchanges and travel directly to offices on the IT corridor. The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation on Monday introduced buses on two new routes to Gachibowli.
The services 156/316 and 300/316 operate from 6 am to 11.50 pm, aimed at providing faster, direct connectivity to workplaces across the Gachibowli IT corridor. With the launch, commuting options have opened up for residents of about 40 localities.
156/316 route: The bus starts from LB Nagar and passes through Koti, Mehdipatnam, Langar Houz, Narsingi X Road, Kokapet Crossroad, Gachibowli circle, Continental Circle, ICICI Circle and IIIT before reaching Gachibowli.
300/316 route: The service originates at Hayathnagar and runs via LB Nagar, Sagar Crossroad, Pisalband, Poolbagh, Asmabad, Bandlaguda, Mailardevpally, Aramghar, Weaker Section Colony, Upperpally Crossroad, Hydershakote Crossroad, Langar Houz, TKB Bridge, Taramati, Narsingi, Kokapet Circle, Gachibowli circle, Financial District, WaveRock, ICICI Junction, Wipro Circle, Infosys and IIIT, before terminating at Gachibowli.
RTC targets faster travel for software employees
“Keeping the time constraints of software employees in mind, we have introduced these new bus services. The new routes will ensure faster travel,” said Sudha Parimala, Hyderabad regional manager.
The IT corridor currently has 500 RTC buses in operation, including 200 electric buses. Another 275 electric buses are set to be added. The average vehicle speed on the IT corridor is between 12 and 15 kmph.
Peak congestion hours are from 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 8 pm, during which vehicle queues stretch up to about 1.8 km.
