Hyderabad gears for traffic curbs during Rama Navami yatra

HYDERABAD: Traffic diversions will be enforced across several parts of the city on March 27 in view of the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra scheduled between 9.00 IST and 21.00 IST, Hyderabad Traffic Police said.
The procession will pass through Seetarambagh, Sultan Bazar and Royal Plaza T-Junction, affecting vehicular movement along the route and adjoining areas.
Major junctions likely to witness heavy congestion
Police said traffic congestion is expected at Begum Bazar, Afzalgunj, MJ Market, Koti, Abids, Putlibowli, Chaderghat and Kacheguda during the procession hours.
Commuters have been advised to avoid these stretches and use alternate routes wherever possible.
Diversions announced at multiple entry and exit points
According to the advisory, vehicles from Asif Nagar will be diverted at Mallepally crossroads. Traffic from Puranapool will be redirected towards Karwan and Kulsumpura.
Vehicles coming via MJ Bridge will be diverted through Jummerath Bazar and City College. Traffic from Abids and Nampally will be routed via MJ Market and Bank Street.
For Chaderghat and Kacheguda, multiple diversions will be implemented through DMHS and Nimboliadda.
Police said traffic will be restored in phases after the procession passes through each stretch.
