Traffic curbs near Malakpet for elevated corridor work from January 15
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Traffic Police on Tuesday announced traffic diversions and road closures in parts of south Hyderabad in connection with the construction of the elevated corridor from Malakpet Fire Station to Yadagiri Theatre.
According to a traffic advisory issued by the Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, the restrictions will come into force from January 15, 2026, and will remain for around 60 days.
One-side closure, congestion expected
The road stretch between Saidabad Y Junction and I.S. Sadan Junction, on one side from Saidabad Y Junction to Dobhighat, will be closed during the construction period. Commuters have also been advised to avoid the Nalgonda X Road Owaisi Hospital (DMRL Junction) stretch due to expected congestion at surrounding roads and junctions.
Diversions for general traffic
Traffic from Nalgonda X Road towards Saidabad Y Junction heading to Santosh Nagar and I.S. Sadan will be diverted via the DCP South East Zone office, Saidabad Law and Order police station, Saraswathi Nagar Kaman, Sankeswar Bazar, Singareni Colony and Champapet main road. This route is permitted only for four-wheelers, RTC buses and heavy goods vehicles.
Two- and three-wheelers coming from Chanchalguda towards I.S. Sadan will be diverted at Saidabad Y Junction via Saidabad Law and Order police station, 105 Bus Stop, Ramalayam Kaman, Laxmi Nagar and Dobhighat Junction.
Two- and three-wheelers heading from Chanchalguda towards Champapet will be diverted via Saidabad Y Junction, Saidabad Law and Order police station, 105 Bus Stop, Ramalayam Kaman, Laxmi Nagar, Vinay Nagar and Bharath Garden.
RTC bus diversions
RTC buses coming from Chaderghat towards I.S. Sadan and Champapet will be diverted at Nalgonda X Road via Malakpet Gunj, Moosarambagh X Road, Gaddiannaram, Shiva Ganga Theatre, Saroornagar Lake, Singareni Colony and Champapet main road.
All district RTC buses and heavy vehicles operating between Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and Chaderghat towards I.S. Sadan and Champapet will be diverted via Malakpet Gunj, Moosarambagh, Dilsukhnagar, Kothapet and LB Nagar Chowrasta.
