Bibi-ka-Alam procession: Traffic diversions in Hyderabad on July 17
Hyderabad: The Telangana Police Department has issued a traffic advisory for the upcoming Bibi-ka-Alam procession on July 17, 2024. The procession will occur in Hyderabad, leading to traffic diversions and restrictions throughout the city.
Traffic diversions from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM:
Vehicles traveling towards Bibi-ka-Alawa at Sunargalli T Junction will be diverted towards Dabeerpura Darwaza and Ganga Nagar Nala on the Yakutpura side. Traffic approaching Shaik Faiz Kaman will be diverted at Jabbar Hotel towards Dabeerpura Darwaza or Chanchalguda.
Vehicles coming from Etebar Chowk will not be allowed towards Bada Bazar and will be diverted towards Kotla Alija or Purana Haveli.Specific diversions will be implemented based on real-time situations as the procession progresses through various checkpoints.
Additional traffic diversions during procession:
When the procession reaches Ganga Nagar Nala, Yakutpura: Traffic from Purani Haveli will be diverted towards Chatta Bazar, Dabeerpura, or SJ Rotary. Traffic coming from Moghalpura and Volta Hotel will be diverted towards Paris Cafe or Talab Katta. When reaching Etebar Chowk, traffic from Mitti-ka-sher and Madina will be diverted towards Madina or Mitti-ka-sher at Gulzar House.
When reaching Kotla Alija, traffic from the Moghalpura water tank will be diverted towards Paris Cafe or Bibi Bazar at Hafez Danka Mosque. At Charminar, traffic from Shakkerkote will be diverted towards Ghansi Bazar or Chelapura, while Nayapool traffic will be diverted towards City College.
When reaching Miralam Mandi, traffic from Chaderghat Rotary, Noorkhan Bazar, Salarjung Museum, and Shivaji Bridge will be diverted towards Nayapool, Shivaji Bridge, and Noorkhan Bazar.
Upon reaching Alawa Sartauq, traffic from Chaderghat Rotary will be diverted towards Ranga Mahal or Koti, while traffic from Gowliguda or Afzalgunj will be diverted towards Afzal Gunj and Gowliguda. Traffic intending to reach SJ Rotary will be diverted towards Madina at Nayapool.
District buses operated by APSRTC/TSRTC will be diverted towards Rang Mahal and Afzalgunj for entry and exit between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM on July 17th. They will be allowed on Kalikabar and Miralam Mandi roads only after the procession reaches its destination.
Secunderabad traffic restrictions from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 17:
Traveling from Tankbund towards Karbala Maidan will be diverted at Children’s Park towards Kavadiguda, Bible House, and R.P. Road. Traffic approaching Karbala Maidan from R.P. Road will be diverted at the Traffic Island near Bible House towards Kavadiguda and rejoin Tankbund Road at DBR Mills T Junction.
Mahatma Gandhi Road between Central Telegraph Island and Ranigunj will become one-way towards Ranigunj. If necessary, traffic might be diverted at Ranigunj Junction towards Ministers Road (KIMS Hospital).
Motorists are advised to plan their commutes accordingly and anticipate delays during the procession. Following these diversions and police instructions will ensure a smooth traffic flow for everyone.
