Hyderabad traffic curbs announced for Balkampet Yellamma temple festivities

HYDERABAD: Traffic diversions will be enforced on July 21 and 22 in view of the Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam and Rathotsavam at Yellamma Devasthanam, Balkampet, where a large number of devotees are expected.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police said moderate congestion is likely in and around Balkampet due to increased vehicular movement. Commuters have been advised to avoid roads leading to the temple and use alternative routes.

Key diversion points announced across major junctions

Traffic from Green Lands, Matha Temple and Satyam Theatre towards Balkampet will be diverted at SR Nagar T Junction via SR Nagar Community Hall, Abilasha Towers and B.K. Guda Cross Road towards Sriram Nagar Cross Road and Sanath Nagar or Fateh Nagar.

Vehicles from Fateh Nagar flyover towards the temple will be stopped and diverted at New Bridge near Hyderabad Kitchen Mart via the railway underbridge towards Kattamaisamma Temple and Begumpet.

Traffic from Green Lands, Bakul Apartments and Food World will not be allowed towards Balkampet and will be diverted at Food World junction towards Sonabai Temple, Satyam Theatre and Maitrivanam.

Vehicles from Begumpet and Kattamaisamma Temple towards Balkampet will be rerouted via Begumpet flyover, Matha Temple, Satyam Theatre and Maitrivanam towards Green Lands.

Police said by-lanes and link roads between SR Nagar T Junction and Fateh Nagar will remain closed during the period.

Parking arrangements made at six designated locations

Parking facilities for devotees have been arranged at R&B Office, GHMC ground, Padma Shree Apartments along DK Road towards Nature Cure Hospital, Fateh Nagar underbridge, Nature Cure Hospital premises and GHMC playground in Sanathnagar.

The police appealed to commuters to follow updates on the Hyderabad Traffic Police social media platforms and contact the traffic helpline at 9010203626 for assistance in emergencies.

Citizens have been urged to plan travel in advance, use alternate routes and cooperate with traffic personnel to ease congestion.
