Hyderabad imposes traffic curbs near Charminar for Jumat

Traffic police manage vehicles near Charminar during Jumat-ul-Vida restrictions

HYDERABAD: Traffic police will impose restrictions around Mecca Masjid near Charminar on March 20, 2026, in view of Jumat-ul-Vida prayers. Vehicle movement will be regulated from 8 am to 4 pm with diversions at several junctions.

Diversions planned at key junctions in Old City

Vehicles coming from Nayapul towards Charminar will be diverted at Madina Junction towards City College. Traffic from Nagulchinta and Shalibanda will be diverted at Himmatpura Junction towards Haribowli and Volga Hotel.

Vehicles from Chowk Maidan will be diverted towards Kotla Alija or Moghalpura. Traffic from Moosabowli will be diverted at Moti Galli towards Khilwat Ground, Rajesh Medical Hall, Shalibanda and Fateh Darwaza Road.

Vehicles heading towards Gulzar House will be diverted at Etebar Chowk towards Mandi Mir Alam Market or Bibi Bazaar. Traffic from Mitti-ka-Sher towards Gulzar House will not be allowed and will be diverted via Ghansi Bazaar towards High Court Road or Khilwat.

At Lakdi-ka-Kot (old Commissioner of Police office junction), vehicles coming from APAT may be diverted towards Mandi Mir Alam Market depending on traffic conditions.

Designated parking spaces for devotees across localities

Devotees coming from Madina and Pathergatti can park at Gulzar Function Hall. Those arriving from Yakutpura, Noor Khan Bazaar, Talab Katta and Dabirpura can use the Mufeed-ul-Anam Ground.

Parking for devotees from Chandrayangutta and Falaknuma will be available at Charminar Bus Terminal. Those from Santosh Nagar, Talab Katta and Moghalpura can park at AU Hospital.

Khilwat Ground is earmarked for devotees from Misrigunj, Fateh Darwaza, Hussaini Alam and Puranapul. Visitors from Kishanbagh, Bahadurpura and Hussaini Alam can use the old Pension Office or Urdu Maskan parking area.

Bus services curtailed; Subhash Road closed in Secunderabad

The restrictions will also apply to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses. City buses will terminate at Afzalgunj, while district buses will be diverted via Chaderghat, Saidabad and Midhani.

In Secunderabad, Subhash Road — between Mahankali police station and Old Ramgopalpet police station — will remain closed from 9 am to 1 pm. Vehicles from Bata crossroads will be diverted at Mahankali police station towards Lala Temple.
