Hyderabad traffic advisory issued for Run for a Girl Child on March 1
HYDERABAD:Â Hyderabad residents have been advised of temporary traffic diversions on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in view of the Run for a Girl Child 10th Edition.
The event will be held near the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium and University of Hyderabad between 05.00 IST and 09.00 IST.
8,500 participants expected for three race categories
Organisers said around 8,500 runners are expected to take part in the 5K, 10K and 21K categories.
Given the scale of participation, motorists may face temporary diversions and slow movement along the event routes during the four-hour window.
Motorists advised to plan alternate routes
Traffic authorities have urged commuters to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
Drivers have also been advised to follow instructions from volunteers and adhere to road signage placed along the race route.
Officials appealed to the public to drive cautiously to ensure the safety of participants and other road users.
