Road No. 2 in Banjara Hills to face diversions from Feb 27 for H-CITI works

Traffic congestion on Lok Bhavan Road ahead of Republic Day in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Traffic Police on February 26, 2026, issued an advisory ahead of pillar construction works for a steel flyover and underpass at Jubilee Hills Check Post, KBR Park Entrance and Mugdha Junction under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project.

Construction of pillars will begin on Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, from February 27, 2026. Officials said traffic congestion is expected on stretches between Mugdha Junction, KBR Park Entrance Junction (Gate-I) and Jubilee Hills Check Post.

Traffic diversion will be implemented only when necessary, police said.

Diversions for key junctions

Traffic coming from NFCL towards Srinagar Colony T Junction, Sagar Society (Mugdha), KBR Park Entrance, Jubilee Hills Check Post, Road No. 36, Road No. 45 and the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge will be diverted at Srinagar Colony T Junction and Sagar Society. Vehicles will proceed via Srinagar Colony Main Road, Indiranagar Labour Adda, Road No. 5 (Jubilee Hills), Venkatagiri X Roads (Road No. 10, Jubilee Hills) and then take a left towards Jubilee Hills Check Post.

Traffic from Road Nos. 36 and 45, Jubilee Hills, heading towards NFCL will be diverted at Jubilee Hills Check Post via Venkatagiri Road No. 2, Jubilee Hills, Yousufguda Basti, Yousufguda Check Post, Maitrivanam, Ameerpet, Indiranagar Labour Adda and Srinagar Colony towards Value Zone on Panjagutta Main Road.

Commuters travelling from KCP and Road No. 1, Banjara Hills, towards KBR Park, Jubilee Hills Check Post and Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills, are advised to take Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, towards Cancer Hospital, turn left and continue via Agrasen Island to reach Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills.

Vehicles coming from Masab Tank towards KBR Park and Jubilee Hills Check Post should take a left turn at 1/12 near Virinchi Hospital, proceed towards Agrasen Island and continue to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills.

Police advise avoiding peak hours

The police advised commuters to avoid peak hours between 8.30 and 11.00 IST and 17.00 and 21.00 IST, if possible. Heavy vehicles have been asked to avoid the stretch during these hours.

Motorists were urged to follow on-ground traffic police instructions and signage, use navigation applications for real-time updates and prefer public transport and car pooling to reduce congestion.

The Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, appealed to citizens to take alternate routes and cooperate with traffic personnel during the construction period.
