Hyderabad To Host 4th Kio National Karate Championship 2025 At Gachibowli Stadium

Hyderabad: The 4th KIO National Karate Championship 2025 will be held from March 27 to March 29, 2025, at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event will feature competitions in Senior, U21, and Para Karate categories for both men and women, with over 1,500 participants from across the country.

Organized by the Telangana Sports Karate Do Association (TSKDA) and affiliated with the Karate India Organisation (KIO), the championship will see teams from 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and Para Military forces competing in 49 categories. The event is expected to draw around 1,500 participants, including athletes and technical officials.

Mallu Batti Vikramarka, Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, will inaugurate the championship as the Chief Guest on March 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Mahesh Kumar Goud, MLC and President of TSKDA, will attend the event on March 28, 2025, as the Chief Guest. The closing ceremony on March 29, 2025, will be graced by A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana.

Ahead of the championship, B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, along with Bharath Sharma, President of KIO, and K. Shiva Sena Reddy, Chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana, visited the Gachibowli Stadium on March 26, 2025, to review the arrangements. They expressed satisfaction with the preparations made for the tournament and highlighted their enthusiasm for hosting the event in Hyderabad. They stated, “We are very much keen to host the 4th KIO National Karate Championship here in Hyderabad.”

“This championship not only highlights the talent of our athletes but also strengthens the karate community in India,” said Mahesh Kumar Goud. “We look forward to fierce competition and the identification of potential candidates for international events, including the World Championships, Asian Championships, and South Asian Championships.”

K. Shiva Sena Reddy assured full support from the Sports Authority of Telangana to ensure the event’s success and reiterated the state’s commitment to hosting more national and international tournaments to help athletes develop their skills at the highest level.
