Hyderabad New Year party illness leaves one dead

Hyderabad: Tragedy marked New Year celebrations in the city after 16 people fell ill following a private party in Bhavani Nagar under the Jagadgirigutta police station limits.

Seventeen attend New Year gathering in Bhavani Nagar

Police said 17 people gathered on Wednesday night to celebrate the New Year in Bhavani Nagar. The group reportedly consumed alcohol and ate biryani during the celebrations.

Sixteen hospitalised after falling ill

Soon after the meal, 16 people complained of illness. Pandu, 53, collapsed and died. The remaining 15 lost consciousness and were rushed to Narayana Malla Reddy Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
