“Please protect us,” Kompally children seeks police help in curbing street dogs

Kompally : Seeking protection and demanding action for the rampant stray dogs in their colonies, the children of Kompally area reached out to the Pet Basheerabad Police Station for help. For a while now, the residents in Kompally are facing a serious issue with stray dogs, which are roaming freely and posing a threat to their safety. And with authorities not taking stern action, the children took the steps of the police station and complained on the Komaplly Municipal Commissioner and others, who are responsible for the issue but failed to address the same.
“When I went to school, the dog bit me. Then I have to go to the hospital and get treated. A dog bit my mother as well, please protect us,” said a child, speaking to the media in a video. The residents also attached the videos of street dogs that are rampant near the shops and in the inner colony roads.

Further, the residents lamented that the stray dogs have been attacking people in several colonies, causing widespread concern among the local community. The residents also said that the dogs in the localities have become aggressive and are attacking people whenever they go outside. They have expressed frustration over the municipal authorities’ negligence, noting that no effective measures have been implemented to curb the menace. The children’s dramatic protest at the police station has sparked outrage among officials, highlighting the lack of adequate response to their concerns.
The children also held placards urging action from the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Commissioner, and local MLA Vivek, asking them to ensure their safety and protect them from the stray dogs. The public is calling for immediate intervention to address this dangerous situation.
The instances of dog bites has increased in Telangana and especially in Hyderabad as well. In a very recent incident, a 17 months old baby died after he was mauled by the street dogs.
