Hyderabad teen arrested for stealing gold, silver worth Rs. 3 lakhs

Hyderabad: The Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, South Zone, along with Hussaini Alam Police, has arrested a 17-year-old Hyderabad teen arrested for stealing gold and silver ornaments, cell phones, and cash from a house in the Hussaini Alam area. The theft took place while the house was locked and its residents were away.

The accused, a resident of Hyderabad, has a history of criminal activities, including the theft of two two-wheelers and a mobile phone. In this incident, he entered a locked house and stole gold and silver ornaments weighing about 85 grams, two cell phones, and cash worth Rs. 6,200, along with other items. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at Rs. 3 lakhs.

According to police, the boy, who dropped out of school after the third grade, turned to theft to fund a lavish lifestyle.

Following a tip-off, the Commissionerโ€™s Task Force, South Zone, and Hussaini Alam Police apprehended the juvenile and recovered the stolen items at his instance.

A case has been registered at Hussaini Alam Police Station under Cr. No. 236/2024, U/s 305 BNS. The investigation is ongoing.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of S. Raghavendra, Inspector of Police, with the support of Sub-Inspectors K. Narsimulu, M. Mahesh, G. Anjaneyulu, N. Naveen, and staff from the Task Force and Hussaini Alam Police.
