Hyderabad teacher recruits submit fake certificates, 24 flagged

HYDERABAD: Twenty-four candidates selected for teacher posts in Hyderabad district submitted fake certificates and bonafide documents, vigilance officials have found.
Fake bonafide certificates detected during verification process
These candidates cleared the DSC-2024 eligibility test and applied claiming they studied in Hyderabad. During scrutiny, district education officials withheld appointment orders for 24 candidates after discrepancies emerged.
Subsequently, the education department asked the vigilance wing to verify certificates of all 584 selected candidates. The verification is being conducted in phases, and details of those who submitted fake bonafide certificates are being shared with officials. The latest report confirmed irregularities in 24 cases.
Irregularities first traced to DEO office staff
Initial irregularities surfaced within the District Education Officer (DEO) office. Eleven staff members working in auxiliary services claimed to have completed BEd in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
After they qualified in the DSC examination, then district collector Anudeep Durishetty identified discrepancies during oral interviews and directed that appointment orders be withheld. Later, doubts arose over bonafide certificates submitted by another 24 candidates, and their appointments were also stopped.
Teacher dismissed after fake documents confirmed
In a separate case, a teacher working in a primary school in Asif Nagar mandal was found to have submitted false certificates. Following a report, district education officer Rohini issued orders removing him from service.
