Hyderabad task force seizes 200 kg chocolates, books manufacturer for food safety violations

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Task Force (HFAST), along with Food Safety officials and Habeebnagar police, raided a chocolate manufacturing unit in Old Mallepally and uncovered multiple alleged food safety violations.
Officials seized more than 200 kg of chocolates, expired flavours and essences, and manufacturing equipment during the operation.
According to authorities, the unit was allegedly repacking and selling chocolate products without mandatory labels, including manufacturing date, batch number and expiry details. Such omissions can hamper traceability and consumer safety.
Police apprehended Konda Karthik in connection with the case.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway. Officials are examining the source of the ingredients, production practices and distribution network linked to the unit.
