Task Force raids shops over Pakistan-made products in Habeebnagar

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad City Police’s Commissioners’ Task Force, Rajendranagar Zone, along with Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) officials, seized cosmetic products worth around ₹7 lakh during searches at three shops in Nampally and Habeebnagar on September 30.
Acting on credible information about the sale and distribution of unauthorised cosmetics suspected to have been imported from Pakistan, the team searched Beauty Ladies Emporium, Beauty Queen Shop and S J Medical Shop.
CDSCO officials examined the products found at the shops and verified them for further legal action. Drugs inspectors Dr Sridhar Mittapalli and Anjan Goud Pendem from the CDSCO zonal office in Hyderabad were part of the inspection team.
The products were found to be among those identified in a CDSCO/Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) public notice dated September 8, 2026, as unauthorised cosmetics. Officials said the products did not have the required registration certificate for import into India.
The products included beauty creams and soaps marketed for skin whitening. They were manufactured in Pakistan and had allegedly been brought into India without the required prior permissions and registration.
The CDSCO has classified the products as unauthorised for import and sale in India. Its public notice said such products contained heavy metals above specified limits and could pose health risks, including toxic effects. CDSCO
Probe traces supply to Mumbai-based dealer
