Hyderabad to get its own ‘Times Square’ inspired by New York in Raidurgam

Hyderabad: The Telangana government’s Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has initiated the process for an ambitious new project, T-Square, which aims to become as iconic as Times Square in New York. Tenders for architectural and transaction advisory services have been issued for the ambitious project, which will be located in Raidurgam.
In its request for proposals (RFP), TGIIC emphasized the need for an architectural marvel and a multifunctional plaza that embodies the area’s spirit. The development aims to create a comfortable and engaging environment for the community.
The Raidurgam area is experiencing rapid growth, with easy access via public transportation provided by TGRTC and Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd. However, public spaces have not kept pace with this development. T-Square is envisioned as a hub for communication, relaxation, and celebration, serving as a micro-urban lung for the neighborhood. The plaza will host various events, from impromptu concerts to organized gatherings, fostering a vibrant and diverse community space. Sustainability will be a key focus, with plans to incorporate green spaces to enhance the urban environment.

TGIIC has outlined several consultancy services required for the project’s development, including:
• Assessing the need for a significant tourist destination in Raidurgam featuring vibrant urban spaces, entertainment hubs, collaboration zones, and commercial intersections.
• Proposing a concept plan for the site and suggesting optimal project structures.
• Assisting TGIIC in finalizing a suitable structure for project development.
• Supporting TGIIC in managing the bidding process to identify and select reputable private developers.
• Facilitating the issuance of the Letter of Award (LoA) to the selected developer, overseeing the agreement signing, and reviewing the project up to financial closure.
