Hyderabad Isolates Traveller With Ebola History

HYDERABAD: A traveller with a history of Ebola infection arrived in Hyderabad and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital after landing at Shamshabad Airport.
Airport authorities identified that the passenger, who arrived from Sudan, had previously suffered from the Ebola virus. Officials immediately alerted health authorities after learning about his medical history.
Fever detected during airport screening
A screening test conducted at the airport found that the passenger had a fever. He was subsequently shifted to Gandhi Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Patient kept in isolation ward
Doctors at Gandhi Hospital said the passenger has a history of Ebola infection and is currently suffering from fever. However, they said there was no need for public concern at this stage.
The issue came to light during health screening conducted because the passenger had travelled from Sudan. Doctors have admitted him to an isolation ward at Gandhi Hospital and are providing treatment and monitoring his condition.
