Hyderabad student dies after volleyball coach’s alleged harassment

HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old degree student died by suicide in Lalaguda after allegedly being harassed by her volleyball coach, police said on Thursday.
According to investigators, Maulika, a second-year student of Tarnaka Railway Degree College, was allegedly subjected to harassment by her coach Ambaji, who had been pressuring her to be in a relationship with him.
Unable to bear the continued harassment, Maulika reportedly took her life by hanging herself at her residence.
Based on a complaint filed by her father, Lalaguda police registered a case against Ambaji and have launched a search to trace him.
