How a ‘no chilled water’ reply led to assault at LB Nagar biryani outlet

HYDERABAD: A 21-year-old student alleged that he was assaulted by a group of eight persons at LB Nagar  biryani outlet in the early hours of April 2, 2026. The incident reportedly resulted in injuries to the complainant and damage to his mobile phone.

No Chilled Water

According to the complaint, K. Prabhas, son of Venkatagiri and a resident of Saidabad, Kurmaguda, said he visited Bats & Bites on Sagar Ring Road at around 3:15 am along with his friend Pranay to have biryani. The outlet was reportedly run by his friend Vignesh, who was present at the counter.

At about 4 am, eight unidentified persons allegedly came to the shop and asked for a chilled water bottle. The complainant told them that chilled water was not available. Following this, the group allegedly assaulted him.

Mobile Phone Damaged

The complaint stated that one person allegedly threw the complainant’s mobile phone on the table and hit him on the head with his hand. Three others allegedly kicked him and pushed him to the ground. The mobile phone was damaged during the incident.

Subsequent Enquiry

The assailants allegedly fled the spot on motorcycles. During subsequent enquiry, the complainant said he was able to identify three persons involved in the incident. The complainant requested police to take action against the accused as per law.
