HYDERABAD: Sixteen street dog puppies found new homes at an adoption drive organised by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Veterinary Wing at KBR Park on Sunday. The event was held from 7 am to 10 am and drew strong participation from animal lovers.

Puppies vaccinated and records issued

All the adopted puppies were vaccinated against rabies, and adopters received official vaccination certificates. Owners were also advised to bring their pets to the Animal Care Centre for Animal Birth Control (ABC) surgery at the appropriate age to ensure responsible ownership and population control.

GHMC officials attend programme

GHMC Chief Veterinary Officer Abdul Waqil and Khairatabad Zonal Assistant Director Vivekananda attended the programme.

Officials said the initiative not only secured safe homes for the puppies but also helped spread awareness about adopting Indian breeds and street dogs.

The drive was conducted as part of GHMC’s ongoing Street Dog Puppies and Indies Adoption Programme.
