Hyderabad STF seizes ganja-based bhang in Dhoolpet
HYDERABAD: The Special Task Force (STF) and Excise Department officials seized 2.622 kg of ganja-based bhang during Holi checks in the Dhoolpet–Nampally area and arrested six persons.
Officials said some people were consuming bhang, prepared using ganja, along with celebrating Holi with colours. The accused were caught during inspections conducted by the STF team led by Anji Reddy along with Dhoolpet Excise staff.
Three separate cases were registered, and the accused were handed over to Dhoolpet Excise police station.
In the first case, officials seized 860 grams of bhang at Begum Bazaar during Holi celebrations. Chintamani Chander Singh and Sohel Singh were arrested.
In the second case, 812 grams of ganja-based bhang was seized from House No. 15-7-585. Bharat Raj, Nandan Yadav, and Mahesh were arrested.
In the third case, officials seized 950 grams of bhang from House No. 14-8-155 at Chudi Bazaar. Sagar Sharma and Ajay Sharma were arrested.
Excise officials said the substance seized was bhang prepared using ganja, an intoxicant commonly misused during Holi.
