Hyderabad Excise STF seize 2.4 kg ganja in Malakpet
HYDERABAD: The Special Task Force (STF) and excise officials seized 2.4 kg of ganja during inspections in Santosh Nagar under Malakpet excise police station limits.
Officials conducted the checks following specific information about the alleged sale of ganja packets in the locality. Teams carried out searches in identified spots as part of the enforcement drive.
During the operation, officers seized 359 packets of ganja. Each packet weighed about six to seven grams. On weighing all the packets together, officials confirmed the total quantity at 2.4 kg.
Police arrested Syed Mannan, 31, in connection with the case. They also registered a case against Akrur Khan, STF official Anji Reddy said.
Authorities handed over the accused and the seized contraband to the Malakpet excise police station for further investigation and legal action.
Excise officials said enforcement drives would continue in areas where information on drug sales is received.
