HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and Musheerabad police arrested six persons for allegedly running an illegal network that procured and sold steroid injections and muscle-enhancing supplements without authorisation. During the operation, police seized steroid injections, testosterone ampoules, growth hormone preparations, tablets and other supplements worth about ₹6.5 lakh.
The arrested were identified as Batte Shiva, 32, an online gym trainer from Musheerabad; Mohammed Furqanuddin Faisal, 28, a scrap dealer from Musheerabad; Mohammed Saif alias Mohd Ehsaan Ulhaq, 20, a student; Farzan Khan, 20, a businessman; Mohd Yousuf, 26, a businessman; and Sombattini Abhilash, 24, an anaesthesia technician from Jeedimetla. Police identified Batte Shiva and Mohammed Furqanuddin Faisal as the main suppliers, while the remaining four allegedly worked as sub-sellers.
According to investigators, Batte Shiva previously owned Iron House Gym and now works as an online fitness trainer. Police said he procured Termin (Neon) and Mephentermine Sulphate injections through an online platform operated by Medhouse Pharma. Investigators alleged that Mudid Chouhan from Uttar Pradesh dispatched the consignments through Delhivery courier services. Shiva then allegedly supplied the injections to Mohd Yousuf and Sombattini Abhilash for resale.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Furqanuddin Faisal, who has been involved in gym training since 2021, allegedly sourced steroid injections and supplements through an online platform identified as Ship Racket. Police said Rajan Preeth Singh from Punjab dispatched the consignments through Blue Dart courier services. Faisal allegedly supplied the products to Mohammed Saif and Farzan Khan, who then sold them to customers.
Police registered Crime No. 261/2026 against Batte Shiva, Mohd Yousuf and Sombattini Abhilash under Sections 125 and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). They also registered Crime No. 260/2026 against Mohammed Furqanuddin Faisal, Mohammed Saif and Farzan Khan under the same provisions at Musheerabad police station.

Police Warn Gym Owners and Fitness Enthusiasts
Police urged gym owners, trainers and fitness enthusiasts not to use or promote injectable muscle-enhancing substances. They cautioned that unregulated steroid use can cause serious health complications, especially among youngsters seeking rapid muscle growth.
The Hyderabad City Police also said they maintain records of gym owners, trainers and members across the city. Furthermore, they will continue conducting surprise inspections to curb the illegal sale and use of performance-enhancing drugs. Officials warned that anyone found violating the law will face strict legal action.
The operation was carried out by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Secunderabad Zone, along with Musheerabad police under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath.
