Severe cold wave hits Hyderabad: University of Hyderabad records 7.1°C

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures plunging to record-breaking lows, marking the coldest morning in the city in the last six years. The University of Hyderabad recorded a minimum temperature of just 7.1°C, while other areas such as MoulaAli and BHEL reported temperatures of 7.2°C and 7.4°C, respectively.

India Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert, indicating that cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of the Adilabad and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts. In Hyderabad and surrounding areas, the sky is partly cloudy, and mist or hazy conditions are expected to persist during the morning hours.
The minimum temperature in Hyderabad is forecast to remain around 15°C, with the maximum temperature reaching approximately 30°C. Surface winds are expected to be from the north-east, with speeds between 6-8 km/h.

Telangana Weatherman, Balaji, highlighted the intensity of the cold wave, stating, “Serious cold wave in Hyderabad now. This is a massive cold right now. Early morning office-goers should ensure they wear warm clothing before stepping out.”
