Hyderabad police arrest history-sheeter with country made pistol

HYDERABAD: Panic prevailed in Saroor Nagar after a history-sheeter was allegedly found moving around with a country-made pistol.

Man arrested during joint police operation

The Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT), along with the Saroor Nagar police, arrested a man who was allegedly carrying a country-made pistol and creating fear among residents.

The accused, Mohammed Imran alias Ibbu (22), was apprehended in Bhagat Singh Nagar under the Saroor Nagar police station limits. Police said he was allegedly intimidating local residents while carrying the firearm.

Imran is the son of Mohammed Farooq and works as an autorickshaw driver. He is a resident of Shankar Nagar in Saroor Nagar.

Police seized one country-made pistol and one live round from his possession.

Police probe weapon source

According to police, Imran is a history-sheeter and has been named in several property offence cases registered at various police stations under the LB Nagar Zone.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the source of the weapon and the purpose for which the accused was carrying it.
