Five held in Mangalhat murder case
HYDERABAD: Police have arrested five members of a gang in connection with the murder of Rishabh Agarwal alias Sunny Agarwal in Mangalhat police station limits.
The accused were held in the Aramghar colony case. Police seized three mobile phones and two Activa two-wheelers from them.
Dispute over rival gang link
According to police, the prime accused, Munna Singh (A-1), was introduced to the deceased through his friend Laddu Singh (A-2). During discussions, Rishabh reportedly said he had been lodged in Cherlapally jail along with a rival gang member.
Police said Munna suspected that Rishabh had joined hands with the rival group.
Assault in shed, body dumped nearby
Investigators said Munna and the others allegedly called Rishabh to a shed and assaulted him. They later shifted him to Aramghar, where the remaining accused joined them and attacked him with hands, legs and blunt objects.
Rishabh died on the spot due to internal injuries, police said. The accused allegedly dumped the body nearby and fled.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, police registered a case under Crime No. 88/2026 under Section 103(1) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
On February 27, 2026, acting on credible information and CCTV footage, Mangalhat police arrested five accused. During questioning, they confessed to the offence, police said. The accused will be produced before a court.
The arrested accused are:
Munna Singh (A-1), real estate and finance businessman, Jummerat Bazaar
Laddu Singh alias Laddu (A-2), private employee, Takkarwadi, Mangalhat
Maddur Pranay Kumar (A-6), insurance agent, Toli Chowki
Tippani Uday Kiran alias Uday (A-7), car driving instructor, Toli Chowki
Kushangal Om Prakash (A-8), grocery shop worker, Toli Chowki
The absconding accused are Aminesh Singh (A-3), Kunal Singh (A-4) and Mamu (A-5).
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Golconda Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police G. Chandra Mohan. Kulsumapura Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalhat Station House Officer S. Raghavendra, Detective Inspector Mahender, Sub-Inspector T. Vinod and staff participated in the operation.
