3,000 runners compete in Hyderabad Runners club run 2026 at UoH

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Runners Society hosted the 17th annual Club Run 2026 at the University of Hyderabad on Sunday. Approximately 3,000 participants from the twin cities competed in the 10K and Half Marathon (21.1 km) events.

In the Half Marathon, Avik Pal won the men’s category with a time of 1:20:08. Vishwa secured first place in the women’s category, finishing in 1:42:38. In the 10K race, Yeswanth Kondri placed first among men with a time of 38:56. Divya Reddy won the women’s category, finishing in 54:25.The top three finishers in each category were recognized by Hyderabad Runners office bearers, including Arun Kumar Kaliappan, Prashant Morparia, Madhumathi Sanjay, Ram Katikineni, Ajit Mishra, Snehith A, and Race Director Shashi Singh.

The Club Run also served as a qualifying race for the Hyderabad Marathon. For many amateur runners, it provided an opportunity to achieve personal bests and qualify for future events.The event reflected Hyderabad Runners’ commitment to grassroots development and community inclusion. The Kouch25K training program engaged 417 participants across 26 locations, concluding with a 5K graduation run after eight weeks of training.Hyderabad Runners Society

The Mir Alam Runners group from the Old City, consisting of about 30 runners, participated after three months of training with Hyderabad Runners Society at Eidgah Bilali (Eidga Maidan). Their graduation run highlighted the organization’s mission to promote running culture in all communities.

The run was officially flagged off by Srinivas, DGM, NMDC Limited, CH. Srinivas, DCP, Madhapur Law & Order, and SMT Shashi Singh, Race Director. Apollo Hospitals provided emergency medical support throughout the event.Hyderabad Runners Society2

Founded in 2007, Hyderabad Runners Society has played a key role in developing a structured running culture in the city. With over 8,000 online members, the community has expanded through training programs, community runs, and flagship events such as the Hyderabad Marathon. The organization is committed to promoting active lifestyles and making running a preferred fitness activity in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
