Rohit Reddy’s SIT custody ended in drugs case

HYDERABAD: Custody of the main accused in the drugs party and firing case linked to former MLA Rohith Reddy’s farmhouse ended on Thursday.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) had taken Rohith Reddy, his brother Ritesh Reddy, and Delhi-based businesswoman Namita Sharma into custody on Tuesday. With the custody period ending, officials shifted them to Chanchalguda Central Prison.
During custody, police collected evidence based on the accused’s responses and statements from eight other accused recorded during daily questioning. Investigators found that Arjun Reddy and Priyanka Reddy frequently attended parties hosted by Rohith Reddy.
SIT officials detained Jubilee Hills-based doctor Balaji in connection with the case but later released him after issuing notices. Police concluded that Balaji was only a consumer.
To gather more information, SIT officials filed a petition in the Upparpally court seeking five more days of custody for Rohith Reddy, Ritesh Reddy, and Namita Sharma. The court is scheduled to hear the petition on Monday.
