Following this, Aiyangar suggested that the airport consider deploying more personnel to better manage vehicle movement. RGIA thanked him for the suggestion and said they would consider it seriously, noting that feedback from citizens helps improve their services.
Amid growing concerns over traffic violations, the Hyderabad Traffic Police launched a special drive from March 3, 2025, targeting wrong-side driving and number plate violations. Authorities reported a significant number of violations during the campaign. Between March 31 and April 6, over 13,000 cases were booked for wrong-side driving and more than 2,500 for number plate violations. The following week, from April 7 to April 14, the numbers rose to more than 16,000 and 3,000 cases respectively.
Police officials urged the public to follow traffic rules and report violations through the dedicated WhatsApp helpline, 9010203626, to improve road safety across the city.
Separately, an earlier incident from October 14, 2024, involved a vehicle displaying the name of Kasturi Shravan instead of a proper registration number. Shravan is the son of Congress MLA candidate from Rajendra Nagar and Manikonda Congress municipal chairman Kasturi Narender. The incident was first reported by a citizen using the handle @ManikondaCircus, who questioned the selective application of law and called out what they described as growing impunity among political figures.
The tweet gained traction online, prompting public outcry over what many saw as preferential treatment for political leaders. In response, the Narsingi Police confirmed that a case had been registered and the vehicle seized. They stated via their official handle that the vehicle would be produced before the court for further proceedings.
Law enforcement agencies have reiterated their commitment to road safety and equal enforcement of rules, urging citizens to remain alert and report any violations.
