Hyderabad Airport drops Boarding Pass stamp rule for international travellers
HYDERABAD: International travellers departing from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) will no longer receive boarding-pass stamps at immigration counters from September 1, 2026.
The change follows a directive from the Bureau of Immigration (BOI). Under the new procedure, passengers can show either an e-boarding pass or a physical boarding pass at immigration.
Passengers carrying printed boarding passes can continue to use them. However, immigration officials will no longer stamp them.
The change applies to international airports across India. Officials said the earlier stamping process caused inconvenience to passengers. Improper or unclear stamps also sometimes made boarding passes difficult to read.
International passengers travelling from Hyderabad can now show their e-boarding passes on smartphones during immigration clearance. Those carrying printed passes can present them as usual without seeking an immigration stamp.
