Accused denied offence
However, in a recent court hearing, the court granted bail to four of the five accused – Syed Taher, Syed Imran, Shaik Aman, and Syed Muzaffar. The decision came after considering that the investigation was complete and a charge sheet filed.
The accused contended that they never committed the offence, all the allegations levelled against them are false. They are private employees supporting their respective families with minor children and elderly parents who are suffering from old age ailments. And one accused was already granted bail, the investigation is complete and the charge sheet filed, so the petitioners are not needed for further investigation. They are ready to abide by any conditions imposed by the court. Subsequently, they urged for bail.
Meanwhile, the Additional Public Prosecutor argued that if the petitioners are released on bail, they may threaten the witnesses not to depose the evidence and may attack the complainant’s family, and their presence also may not be ensured when required. He requested to dismiss the bail petition.
In its ruling, the court ruled, “Since the investigation has been completed and a charge sheet was also filed, there’s no further requirement to keep the accused in custody,” and granted bail. The accused were ordered to execute a personal bond of Rs. 20,000 each, along with two sureties of the same amount.
