Rainbow Vistas Residents Request Foot Overbridge Near Green Hills Road

HYDERABAD: Residents of Rainbow Vistas Rock Garden in Kukatpally Assembly constituency have urged local MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao to take immediate steps for the construction of a foot overbridge on the Gachibowli–Kondapur Road (popularly known as Green Hills Road).

Heavy traffic poses risk to older, women and children

In a representation dated October 17, 2025, the residents said that the stretch has become extremely congested due to heavy traffic from HiTec City towards Kukatpally, putting pedestrians at constant risk.

The community association said the Rainbow Vistas Rock Garden complex has 2,572 flats housing nearly 10,000 residents, and the road serves as the main access route for neighbouring colonies such as Rainbow Phase-1, Seven Hills Nagar and upcoming layouts. “Many older residents, women, domestic workers and delivery personnel cross this busy road daily. The absence of a pedestrian bridge is leading to frequent accidents,” the letter stated.

Residents added that a foot overbridge would help prevent accidents involving both pedestrians and motorists. They also requested measures to ease traffic congestion near the Bharat Nagar U-turn, where vehicles from HiTec City and towards Kukatpally face long delays.

Locals want signal improvements near Rangadhamuni Road junction

The community suggested synchronising traffic signals at the Rangadhamuni Road–Green Hills junction to facilitate smoother movement and provide relief to commuters.

The letter, signed by T Satyanarayana Reddy, president of the Cybercity Rainbow Vistas Rock Garden Welfare Association, expressed hope that the MLA would treat the issue as a public safety concern and ensure early action.
