Hyderabad residents frustrated over unresolved complaints marked as closed on GHMC App

Hyderabad: Concerns have been raised on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) regarding the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) ‘s closure of complaints without addressing the issues. Many citizens have highlighted that their grievances are closed without being resolved, with some tickets marked as “resolved” even when the problems persist.
One user, Hyderabad Citizen (@MohdSam81963594), pointed out that under the leadership of K. T. Rama Rao, GHMC used to close complaints the very next day. However, under the current leadership of Revanth Anumula, complaints are often left unresolved for extended periods. The user claimed that their issue had been pending for 225 days without any response from officials.
Another user, B. Ajay Kumar, raised concerns about the closure of streetlight complaints. He shared his frustration, saying that despite raising multiple requests, GHMC staff continues to mark grievances as resolved without fixing the inoperative streetlights. Kumar suggested that citizens should be allowed to close grievances once the issue is rectified, as this would reduce harassment and unnecessary repeat complaints.

Most of them are not glowing from October 2024 & few from Jan 2025 .

He criticized GHMC staff for repeatedly closing grievances with remarks like “All lights glowing” despite streetlights not working since October 2024.
Kumar also raised broader concerns about GHMC’s sanitation and electrical departments, highlighting issues like garbage dumping and damaged electrical poles. He urged for better communication from the Telangana State Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) regarding planned or unplanned power outages and suggested that citizens should receive prior notifications.
Some users also shared evidence of GHMC staff exploiting loopholes in the grievance system by uploading irrelevant images and marking cases as resolved. One user posted screenshots showing complaints being marked as resolved without any effort to address the issue, with images that had no relation to the reported problems.
Very true, during @KTRBRS leadership the @GHMCOnline use to close complaints on very next day, but under @revanth_anumula leadership none of them addressing complaints, it’s been 225 days n no response from officers @ZC_Secunderabad @DC_Secunderabad @Acp29_Ghmc @CommissionrGHMC pic.twitter.com/JCjooMFtYQ

In response to these complaints, GHMC officials have asked citizens to share location details for further investigation. However, many users continue to express frustration with the handling of their grievances.
The ongoing issue of unresolved complaints and misuse of the grievance system highlights the challenges citizens face in seeking timely resolutions from municipal authorities.
