Heavy rain triggers traffic snarls, waterlogging across Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Heavy rain lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Tuesday evening, causing waterlogging and major traffic congestion across the city. Areas including IKEA Junction, Madhapur, Gachibowli and Miyapur witnessed long traffic queues.
Water accumulated on several key roads during the evening rush hour. As a result, vehicles moved slowly and commuters faced longer travel times.
Waterlogging at several locations
Traffic police reported waterlogging at Medipally, Chaderghat, Bible House, Chilkalguda X Road, KCP Junction, NFCL Junction, Alsabha (Raidurgam), IKEA Junction, Madhapur and Gachibowli, among other areas.
Two ambulances got stuck in traffic near Chaderghat as waterlogged roads slowed vehicle movement.
Police urge commuters to drive carefully
The Cyberabad Traffic Police deployed personnel at major junctions to manage traffic, clear congestion and help motorists. Officers remained on the ground to improve traffic flow in affected areas.
Police advised commuters to avoid waterlogged roads whenever possible. They also urged motorists to drive carefully and plan for extra travel time.
