How did the Khajaguda hit-and-run turn fatal?
HYDERABAD: A pedestrian died and two others were injured after he was hit by two cars in separate incidents at Khajaguda in Raidurgam early Monday.
The incident occurred around 4.15am when the 35-year-old pedestrian was crossing the road. An SUV travelling from Nanakramguda towards Khajaguda hit him, leaving him seriously injured.
Injured pedestrian hit again while being taken to hospital
The SUV driver, Zaydshah Kadri, 21, stopped and put the injured man in his vehicle to take him to hospital. While he was being shifted, another car hit the SUV.
The impact caused the pedestrian, who was already seriously injured, to die on the spot. Kadri suffered a fracture to his right leg and other injuries and was shifted to a private hospital in Gachibowli.
Raidurgam inspector T Bhupathi said the pedestrian died at the spot and Kadri was undergoing treatment.
Police said the identity and details of the deceased had not yet been established. They appealed to people who could provide information about him to contact Raidurgam police.
Sub-inspector Ravi Kumar said preliminary information indicated that Kadri was a law student. Police were trying to identify the second car involved in the accident.
Raidurgam police registered a case of negligence causing death against the unknown driver of the second vehicle, who fled the spot.
