Rapido rider, doctor die in Punjagutta road accident
HYDERABAD: Two persons were killed in a road accident under the Punjagutta police station limits. According to police, M Naveen, a native of Khammam district, was residing near Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) and working as a Rapido rider. As part of his duty, he was taking a private hospital doctor, Kasturi Jagadish Chandra, on his bike to another private hospital in Secunderabad when the accident occurred near Greenlands.
Police detain lorry driver after fatal crash
A lorry rammed into the bike, killing Naveen on the spot. Dr Jagadish Chandra sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a private hospital in Somajiguda, where he later died while undergoing treatment.
Police said the lorry and its driver, identified as Shankar, were taken into custody. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
