Kondapur pub raid: Seven held for drug consumption at Kondapur event

HYDERABAD: The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) Force, Telangana, along with Cyberabad Narcotics Police Station and Gachibowli Police Station teams, apprehended seven individuals for drug consumption during a late-night raid at a pub in Kondapur.
The operation was conducted during the intervening night of April 2–3, 2026, at “Quake Arena Pub” within the limits of Gachibowli police station, based on specific inputs about drug use during a special event featuring an international DJ.
Targeted surveillance and testing during ongoing event
Officials said six teams were formed after intelligence inputs indicated large-scale drug use at the venue. Around 64 attendees were initially shortlisted based on surveillance.
Without disrupting the event, police conducted checks and tested select individuals using ABONN urine drug test kits. Four persons tested positive for ganja and benzodiazepine, while three others tested positive for ganja and methamphetamine.
The apprehended individuals were identified as Monish Umesh, Prudviraj, Abhishek, Rishab, Harith, Ritesh and Jyothiraditya. Police said all seven admitted to drug consumption.
Accused handed over; case registered under NDPS Act
The individuals were handed over to Gachibowli police station. A case has been registered as Crime No. 591/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 27(a) and 27(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Police said further investigation is under way to identify supply networks linked to the consumers.
Foreign artist Alexander from Spain and the venue’s DJ Kayvee were also tested during the operation and found negative for drug use.
Focus on de-addiction and parental awareness
Officials said the families of those apprehended would be informed and counselling measures, including de-addiction programmes, would be recommended.
In a public advisory, the EAGLE Force urged youth to avoid drug use and appealed to parents to monitor their children’s activities. Citizens were encouraged to share information through official helplines.
