Voices for the Greens: Over 200 Unite to Protect KBR Park from Rising Concrete Threat

HYDERABAD: Over 200 protesters, including environmentalists and NGO representatives, gathered near Indo-American Hospital on Sunday evening. They protested against the alleged loss of green cover due to earth excavation work near KBR Park.
The protesters held an hour-long demonstration. They wore black clothes as a symbol of protest and carried placards. They marched on pavements near KBR Park. They raised slogans such as “We want KBR Park, not flyovers” and “Stop tree cutting”.
The participants expressed concern over environmental damage. They said ongoing infrastructure work near the park is harming green spaces.
Performance artist and painter Ramani Mylavarapu organised a participatory art protest. Demonstrators took part in the performance as a form of dissent.
Young people, senior citizens, and children also joined the protest. This showed wide public concern over the issue.
