Cyberabad husband seeks fair probe into wife’s alleged suicide

HYDERABAD: A 30 year old daily wage worker has sought urgent intervention from senior police authorities after alleging that his pregnant wife died by suicide under suspicious circumstances at her parental home.
Mahesh, son of Mallaiah, a resident of Chintal, Shivareddy Colony, Jeedimetla in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, submitted a written complaint to the Station House Officer of Jeedimetla police station, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Balanagar, and the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad Commissionerate.
In his complaint, Mahesh stated that he legally married Bhagya on January 30, 2026, and that they lived together as husband and wife after the wedding. He said his wife later became pregnant.
According to him, Bhagya’s parents and relatives allegedly took her to their home without his consent. He claimed they used “forceful and misleading words” and did not allow her to return to her matrimonial home.
Mahesh further alleged that there were attempts to compel her to undergo an abortion without her consent and without his knowledge. He said his repeated requests to send his wife back were ignored.
Recently, he came to know that Bhagya allegedly died by suicide while staying at her parental house. He alleged that she was subjected to illegal confinement, mental harassment and coercion, which led to the incident.
He said he approached the Jeedimetla police station and lodged a complaint but alleged that no proper action had been taken. He accused the local police of negligence and inaction in registering an appropriate case and conducting a fair investigation.
Mahesh also cited alleged violations of fundamental rights under Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India. He sought a fair, impartial and independent probe into the death of his wife.
In his representation, he requested the authorities to call for an action taken report from the concerned police officials, initiate proceedings against those responsible, and ensure protection of his rights.
Stating that he is a poor person with no influence, Mahesh sought urgent intervention in the interest of justice.
