Hyderabad Police seize gold

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Husaini Alam Police, have arrested two individuals on July 9 (Tuesday) for extorting gold balls and cash from a gold jewelry-making shop in the Hussaini Alam area.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Shaik Rostik (39) and Shaik Hasijul (33), both natives of West Bengal and residents of Hussaini Alam, Hyderabad. The police seized 56 grams of pure gold and Rs. 90,000/- from their possession.

The case is based on a complaint filed by the owner of the gold shop under (Cr. No. 143/2024, U/s 308(5), r/w 5(3) of BNS of Hussaini Alam Police Station).

According to the police investigation, Shaik Rostik, facing financial difficulties, approached Shaik Hasijul for help. Shaik Hasijul allegedly suggested extorting gold from a jewelry shop.

The duo is accused of conspiring with three absconding individuals from West Bengal named Bapi, Manik, and Karthik. The three absconding individuals allegedly threatened and robbed a gold-making shop at Ghansi Bazar in Hussaini Alam of Hyderabad taking away 80 grams of gold, two POCO mobile phones, and Rs. 2,000/- on July 5, 2024.

Acting on a tip, the Commissioner’s Task Force South Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Husaini Alam Police arrested Shaik Rostik and Shaik Hasijul. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining absconding accused.

The arrests were made under the supervision of Ande Srinivasa Rao, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force, Hyderabad, by S. Raghavendra, Inspector of Police, South Zone, along with Sub Inspectors N. Naveen, K. Narsimulu, G. Anjaneyulu and Staff of South Zone Task Force, Hyderabad City, and Hussaini Alam Police.
