Gachibowli: Hyderabad police seize 20 kg of ganja in Nanakramguda, 3 held
Hyderabad: In a significant crackdown on drug smuggling, the Shamshabad District Task Force (DTF) seized 20 kg of ganja in the Gachibowli area on Sunday morning.
A vehicle was stopped by the authorities for inspection in Nanakramguda. They discovered a contraband, packed in 13 packets, hidden in the trunk of the car which was being used for transporting the drugs into Hyderabad.
The primary accused was identified as Bikram Hira, a 24-year-old from Malkangiri district in Odisha. While Hira managed to escape, three other individuals were detained for questioning.
The seized car and ganja are now in police custody as investigation is underway. Authorities suspect that due to the increased enforcement, drug distribution networks in the city are finding new ways to operate, including phone-based orders by local gangs to distribute narcotics.
