Hyderabad police display seized 1.17 kg Alprazolam linked to toddy adulteration case in Medak.

HYDERABAD: The Chandanagar police and the Special Operations Team of Madhapur Zone arrested a 38-year-old man and seized 1.17 kg of Alprazolam allegedly meant for adulterating toddy on Sunday.

The accused was identified as Goundla Bala Murali Krishna, a resident of Vemana Reddy Colony in Chandanagar. Two others Ravi Teja and Sai Sudhakar are on the run.

Drug supplied for toddy shop in Medak

Police said Murali Krishna ran a toddy shop at Doulatabad village in Medak district along with Sudhakar and associates. According to officers, he sourced Alprazolam from Ravi Teja for ₹3 lakh per kg.

Arrest made at his residence

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Madhapur) Ritiraj said Murali Krishna was picked up from his residence following a tip-off. “During questioning, he admitted to procuring Alprazolam from Ravi Teja of Podichanpally village in Papannapet mandal,” the officer said.

Police also seized a car and a mobile phone allegedly used in the offence.
