Hyderabad Police Deploy at Rohith Reddy’s Home

HYDERABAD: Police reached the residence of former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy in Manikonda on Sunday and created a tense situation in the locality.
Around 50 police personnel from Tandur and Vikarabad arrived at his house, reportedly to arrest him. However, Rohith Reddy was not present at home when the police team reached the residence.
Phones seized during argument
An argument broke out between police personnel and Rohith Reddy’s supporters inside the house premises. Family members who were recording the developments on their mobile phones alleged that police seized their devices.
Police later left the premises after confirming that the former MLA was not at home. A heavy police presence was maintained outside the house for some time.
Case linked to municipal counting dispute
The development follows a complaint related to the Tandur municipal election counting. Rohith Reddy had allegedly objected to Congress MLA Manohar Reddy entering the counting centre before the process concluded, terming it a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Supporters of Rohith Reddy alleged that police registered a case against him instead of taking action against the Congress MLA.
Police officials have not issued an official statement on the incident.
