Hyderabad: Residents of Vinayak Nagar in Shaikpet are raising concerns over vehicles parked on the roads, which are causing traffic jams and narrowing the roads significantly. One resident, Naresh, highlighted the issue, stating that the 25-foot-wide road has been reduced to just 10 feet due to the parked vehicles. This road serves as a key connectivity route from Film Nagar to Manikonda.

Speaking to Hyderabad Mail, Naresh said, “It’s a major connectivity road, and we’re facing heavy traffic congestion because of the vehicles parked on the road.”

Naresh took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), tagging the GHMC and Hyderabad City Police, requesting swift action to clear the vehicles. “The road has been narrowed down because of these parked vehicles. Can we quickly vacate these and create space for commuters?” he wrote. The tweet was directed at @GHMCOnline, @hydcitypolice, @CommissionrGHMC, and @Comm_HYDRAA, with the specific location mentioned as Vinayak Nagar, Shaikpet.

While the police have previously responded to the issue and cleared the encroached vehicles, Naresh pointed out that the problem persists daily. He called for a permanent solution and suggested that awareness drives be conducted to educate people about the impact of parking on roads.

In response to similar concerns, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has also asked citizens to report abandoned vehicles. They urge the public to help keep the roads clear by reporting unclaimed or broken-down vehicles. The police highlighted that abandoned vehicles will be towed, and legal action may be taken against the owners.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police also posted a message on X, urging residents to assist in clearing abandoned vehicles. The post read, “Spotted an abandoned vehicle? Report it to the traffic police and help keep the roads safe and clear!”

With the increasing concern about road encroachments, authorities hope to address the issue effectively and restore smooth traffic flow in the affected areas.
