Hyderabad Police raid Jubilee Hills pub; One tests positive for drugs

Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TNAB) and Hyderabad Police raided a high-end pub, Olive Bistro & Bar, in Jubilee Hills, Road No. 45, in the early hours of Sunday, February 17, 2025.

The operation led to the identification of 20 potential drug users. One person tested positive for multiple substances, including marijuana and cocaine, during on-the-spot drug tests conducted at the venue.

This follows a previous raid conducted by the Telangana Excise Enforcement Department on September 6, 2024, when midnight searches were carried out at five pubs. The operation resulted in four individuals testing positive for drugs. A total of 33 people were tested, with four confirmed to be under the influence.

At Quorum Club in Sherlingampally Knowledge City, seven individuals were tested, with two testing positive. Similarly, twelve people at Babylon in Jubilee Hills were tested, and two were found to have drugs in their system.

The individuals identified in the earlier raids were Chinna Nigesh from Warangal, Ravikumar from Srikakulam, TVS Keshava Rao from Moosapet, and Abdul Rahim from Charminar.

The operation was led by Excise Enforcement Director V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, with the cooperation of Joint Commissioner Qureshi, Hyderabad Ranga Reddy Assistant Commissioner R. Kishan, Anil Kumar Reddy, TG NAB police, and excise officials.

In another incident, the Excise Enforcement Police raided Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour in Jubilee Hills on the same day, revealing that the establishment had been selling whiskey-infused ice cream to children.

Authorities seized 11.5 kilograms of ice cream containing 100 Pipers whiskey, which had been sold at a high price. Each kilogram of ice cream contained 60 milliliters of whiskey.

Dayakar Reddy and Sobhan were identified as the individuals responsible for making the whiskey-infused ice cream. The cafe is owned by Sharath Chandra Reddy.
