Hyderabad Police Impose Curbs For Jubilee Hills Bye Election

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad City Police has imposed prohibitory orders in connection with the bye-election to the 61-Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency scheduled for November 11, 2025.

Restrictions on gatherings and processions

The Commissioner of Police has banned assembly of persons, processions, and mobile publicity under Sections 22(1)(d-f), 22(2)(a-e), and 22(3) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli. The restrictions will be in force from 6 pm on November 9 to 6 am on November 12, and again from 6 am on November 14 to 6 am on November 15, covering both polling and counting days.

Liquor sale prohibited during polls

All liquor outlets, bars, restaurants, and clubs across Hyderabad and Secunderabad will remain closed from 6 pm on November 9 to 6 pm on November 11, and again from 6 am on November 14 to 6 am on November 15, as per orders issued under the Hyderabad City Police Act.

Prohibitory orders at polling and counting centres

Authorities will enforce Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (replacing Section 144 CrPC) around polling stations on November 11, and at the counting centre Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium, Yousufguda on November 14, until completion of counting.

Queue formation and voter management

Under Section 21(1) of the Hyderabad City Police Act, the Commissioner has ordered the formation of orderly queues by voters at polling stations to ensure smooth conduct of the election.

Ban on firecrackers during counting

The bursting or throwing of firecrackers in public places and on roads will be strictly prohibited from 6 am on November 14 to 6 am on November 15, under Section 67(c) of the Hyderabad City Police Act.

The notifications were sent to the Department of Information and Public Relations for publication in newspapers to inform the public.
