Hyderabad police nabs seven for attempted Duolingo English exam fraud

LB NAGAR: The LB Nagar Zone Special Operation Team (SOT) apprehended seven individuals at Venkateshwara Lodge in Hyderabad on Tuesday for allegedly attempting to cheat on the Duolingo Exam, an online English eligibility test for admissions to international universities in the USA, Ireland, Australia.

According to the police, the seven individuals were caught taking the English exam on behalf of others who wanted to gain admission to foreign universities. The accused collected Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 from each student to guarantee their success in the exam.

The police confiscated five laptops, four passports, and seven cellphones from their possession. A case has been registered against the seven individuals at LB Nagar police station. Further investigation is underway.
