Hyderabad police lathi charge students inside Maisammaguda hostel
HYDERABAD: Police allegedly lathi-charged students inside hostel rooms at Maisammaguda under the Pet Basheerabad police station limits in Hyderabad.
The incident followed a quarrel between students and a security guard. According to students, the dispute began after some of them consumed alcohol and argued with the guard.
Students allege police entered hostel rooms and beat them
Students alleged that police later entered the hostel premises and moved into rooms where students were staying. They said police used lathis and beat students indiscriminately.
Several students claimed the police action continued even inside hostel rooms. They alleged that the force used during the operation was excessive.
Clash with security guard after drinking sparks police action
Police intervention followed the altercation between the students and the security guard in Maisammaguda. Students said the dispute escalated after the argument earlier in the night.
They accused the police of using force instead of handling the situation through dialogue.
