Hyderabad Police busts a fake job racket that offered MNC jobs

Hyderabad: Cyber Crime Police busted a job fraud and arrested a man in connection with the fraud on Sunday. The police claimed to have cracked around 16 cases across the country where the same accused was involved in the job fraud. Further police are suspecting the accused might be involved in more cases and investigation is underway.
Hyderabad Cyber Crime police identified the fraudster as S Mahesh hailing from Bangalore city in Karnataka. The police opened up the case based on the complaint from a victim who informed them that “He saw a job advertisement in Telegram and contacted the accused person. The accused person under the guise of providing jobs in Multinational companies(MNC), cheated him and his seven friends totalling to the tune of Rs 46 lakhs”.
Revealing the modus operandi of the accused Cyber Crime Police said, “The accused person used to post advertisements of job opportunities in the MNC companies through social media platforms to lure the potential job seekers. By falling prey to the same when potential job seekers used to approach the accused person”.
Accused conducted interview and issued appointment letters
Further police added the accused Mahesh used to conduct interviews and issued appointment letters by taking huge amounts. When victims approached the companies then they came to know that they were cheated. After realizing that they were cheated the victims used to approach the police and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint from a victim based hailing from Hyderabad, Cyber crime police booked a case under section 419(Punishment for cheating by personation), 420 (Cheating ) of Indian penal code(IPC) and66(C)(D) IT Act. They further investigated the case and arrested the accused.
Cyberabd police cautioned the public not to believe unknown persons who offer jobs in MNC companies and back door offers.
