Hyderabad Police Chief reacts to Virat Kohli’s confrontation with 19-yr-old debutant

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has shared his opinion on Cricketer Virat Kohli’s conduct during a recent cricket match after a person tagged him in a video posted by 7Cricket (@7Cricket).
The video showed Kohli appearing to hit another player, with the caption quoting Ricky Ponting: “Have a look where Virat walks. Virat’s walked one whole pitch over to his right and instigated that confrontation. No doubt in my mind whatsoever.”

A Twitter user named Shiva (@ssr99) tagged C.V. Anand, asking for his take on the incident, particularly questioning whether Kohli acted intentionally, considering the other player involved, Sam, was a 19-year-old debutant who had recently expressed admiration for Kohli.
What’s your take on this incident? Did Kohli do it on purpose? After all Sam was a 19 year old kid making his debut and also said recently that Kohli is his batting hero ! https://t.co/tiQTHFu89b

In his response, Commissioner Anand expressed disappointment in Kohli’s actions, saying, “Quite foolish of Kohli, I feel. He’s a small kid of 19 years and playing his debut match. In fact, the shots he played were amazing, and Kohli could have kept smiling instead of showing such contempt and being bullyish! Not done 👎🏽.”

This exchange comes amid recent controversy surrounding the Commissioner’s previous comments about the Sandhya Theatre stampede, for which he later issued an apology. In a separate post, C.V. Anand reflected on the importance of humility, saying, “If I ever felt I had made a mistake, I haven’t hesitated from apologising, even to my home guard. That’s been a childhood quality instilled in me by the game of cricket, which has made me a better person. Team sports are crucial in developing a well-rounded personality, unlike the corporate education system.”
